Zain and SACGC partner for Kuwait National Robotics Competition

  • In a collaborative effort to invest in the digital and technological skills of young individuals in Kuwait, Zain and the Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC), a part of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), have declared their strategic partnership in the Kuwait National Robotics Competition 2024. This competition, organized by the Computer Science Department of the College of Science at Kuwait University in March, is set to take place at Kuwait University's Conferences Center in Shadadiya. The event is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Kuwait Technical College (KTC), and various private sector supporters, showcasing a successful outcome of the concerted efforts between the public and private sectors to empower the upcoming generation of innovators in Kuwait.

Under the Innovation Nation umbrella, this collaboration is part of Zain's innovation and entrepreneurship programs, specifically concentrating on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. With a primary focus on youth and entrepreneurs, Innovation Nation aims to cultivate a digitally adept generation. The Kuwait National Robotics Competition is tailored for middle school, high school, and university-level students, offering a comprehensive program designed to enhance various technical skills related to robotics, including building, assembling, and programming. The initiative employs a distinctive approach that combines theoretical lessons with practical exercises, emphasizing essential personal skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

The competition is structured into three tiers, each tailored for a specific age group. The middle school level focuses on the fundamentals of robotics and programming, encouraging young minds to explore and innovate. The high school level provides a more advanced platform that challenges participants to push the boundaries of creativity, technical skills, and teamwork. The university level is the most advanced, assessing both theoretical and practical skills. Each level presents its unique rules and challenges, offering a distinctive and informative experience for all participants. This competition marks a significant stride in nurturing creativity and empowering the upcoming generation of technology leaders and innovators in Kuwait.
