Tomato System, a prominent IT service solutions provider, announced on the 6th that it has formed a consortium with vertical solution specialist Metanet DL to execute the next-generation portal and academic information system construction project for Korea University. The contract, valued at approximately 10 billion won, marks the beginning of full-scale operations.
The project aims to overhaul Korea University's existing academic information system, leveraging advanced IT technologies to meet the rapidly evolving needs of modern university education. It seeks to develop a future-oriented system that prioritizes user demands while enhancing functionality.
The initiative encompasses various components, including a revamped portal and academic administration system, mobile services, an electronic contract system, groupware, an electronic approval system, a regulation management platform, a management statistics system, and chatbot enhancements.
Tomato System will hold a 47% stake in the project, amounting to 4.8 billion won, and will spearhead key developments such as the graduate school entrance examination system, subsidiary administration system, and the integrated portal.
Korea University aims to offer streamlined and personalized administrative services through this project, enhancing the usability and satisfaction of students and staff. The integrated portal will enable users to access and process academic information through a single interface, while strengthened mobile compatibility will ensure access anytime and anywhere.
Lee Sang-don, CEO of Tomato System, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “This project will be a pivotal moment in realizing Korea University’s vision. It will not only enhance convenience and satisfaction for university members but also serve as a foundation to boost Korea University’s global competitiveness”.
With the collaboration of Tomato System and Metanet DL, this project sets a precedent for innovative IT-driven solutions in higher education.
