The inaugural phase of the STATUS 200 coding bootcamp for young Malaysians commenced in Kuala Lumpur. Presented by Octa, an international intermediary, in collaboration with Ideas International, this comprehensive training program spans three stages. Its objective is to enhance career prospects and equip students of varying coding expertise with valuable skills.
The inaugural session of STATUS 200, a coding bootcamp organized by Octa and Ideas International, launched successfully on June 17th in Kuala Lumpur. Geared towards improving career prospects and providing practical education for Malaysian youths, the event is structured into three stages, with the first phase running from June 17th to June 30th.
The STATUS 200 bootcamp, a collaborative initiative between Octa, a prominent global financial broker serving clients across 180 countries, and Ideas International (formerly Ideas Academy), a Kuala Lumpur-based secondary school emphasizing holistic education for diverse youth backgrounds, has closed its application process. Stage 1 of the bootcamp has commenced with 33 participants selected through application submissions and an additional 8 students sponsored by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.
In their cover letters, applicants expressed eagerness to learn from industry experts and build networks in a supportive peer environment at the STATUS 200 bootcamp. For many, this program offers a crucial opportunity to refine existing coding skills and gain hands-on experience in their field of interest, while for others, it marks the initial step toward prospective careers. During Stage 1, students have the flexibility to attend classes either online or in-person. Successful completion of Stage 1 will pave the way for in-person training at the Ideas International campus in Kuala Lumpur during Stages 2 and 3.
