Saudi Education Minister Yousef Al-Benyan extended congratulations to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the remarkable achievements of Saudi students at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2024 and the International Inventions, Innovations, Technology Competition and Exhibition (ITEX) 2024. Saudi male and female students achieved significant success at both events, winning a combined total of 114 medals. ISEF 2024 took place from May 10-17 in Los Angeles, USA, while ITEX 2024 was held from May 16-17 in Malaysia.
The minister highlighted that the exceptional performance of these students underscores the importance placed on education by the Saudi leadership, aiming for global excellence. Al-Benyan stated, "This achievement reflects the dedicated efforts to reach global championship platforms and represent the Kingdom at the highest levels. It also demonstrates to the world our aspirations and plans, achieved through national efforts and distinguished partnerships."
He also extended his gratitude and congratulations to the students, their families, teachers, and educational partners who played crucial roles in motivating and enhancing the students' capabilities. Among these partners are King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, Tuwaiq Academy, and Misk Schools.
At ISEF 2024, Saudi students secured 27 awards, including nine individual awards and 18 grand awards. Notable winners included Hamad Al-Husseini and Abeer Al-Yousef, who earned second-place awards in the energy and chemistry categories, respectively. Additionally, Elias Khan, Sulaiman Al-Misnad, Latifa Al-Ghannam, Turki Al-Dalami, Tahani Ahmed, and Laila Zawawi won third-place awards across various categories. These accomplishments not only highlight the students' dedication and talent but also reflect the comprehensive support and strategic vision of Saudi Arabia's educational initiatives, aiming to cultivate a generation capable of excelling on the global stage.
