Announced last Thursday, the partnership combines Maxis’ advanced network infrastructure with UTAR’s educational expertise to explore innovative opportunities in these critical sectors.
Maxis will leverage its cutting-edge 5G network to jointly develop solutions that enhance healthcare and education, while UTAR will contribute its strong academic foundation to ensure the solutions meet real-world needs. The partnership will also explore areas such as cybersecurity, green technology, and smart campus initiatives, tapping into the full potential of Maxis' network infrastructure.
In healthcare, the focus will be on 5G-enabled innovations like telesurgery, remote consultations, and real-time health monitoring. These solutions could revolutionize healthcare delivery by facilitating remote medical procedures and improving patient care through real-time data sharing.
In education, the collaboration aims to enhance learning experiences through immersive technologies such as augmented reality (AR). By integrating AR with 5G, UTAR students could participate in remote lectures while experiencing interactive and multimedia-rich content.
