LG Philippines has revealed the winner of this year’s LG Ambassador Challenge: the Life’s Good Library On The Go, led by Charlene Aguilar. This groundbreaking mobile library project is designed to deliver books and educational materials to children in underserved areas, promoting a passion for reading and engaging learning experiences.
The LG Ambassador Challenge, a global initiative organized by LG Philippines in collaboration with Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI), highlights LG’s dedication to community involvement and sustainable development. The program invites individuals and organizations to present proposals aimed at making significant improvements in their communities. Winning proposals are awarded grants to bring their ideas to life, enabling local changemakers to foster positive societal change.
The mobile library will travel through seven barangays in Nagcarlan, Laguna: Lawaguin, Bunga, Balayong, Sabang, Alumbrado, Talahib, and Sulsuguin. It aims to reach children who have limited access to basic education and organized learning and provide them with essential educational resources.
“This mobile library exemplifies our commitment to education and accessibility, bringing books and learning resources directly to underserved communities, aiming to inspire a love for reading and promote immersive, lifelong learning among children. This reflects our unwavering promise to empower individuals and enrich their futures”, said LG Philippines Managing Director Nakhyun Seong during his opening remarks.
LG Ambassador Charlene Aguilar also spoke at the event, emphasizing the project’s broader impact, “This mobile library is more than just a collection of books; it is a beacon of hope and learning. Through LG’s help, beyond just books, children in our community will now have the opportunity to see the world through the LG TV, with the LG XL7S Speaker making learning an immersive and interactive experience. This enhancement will allow the kids to provide a richer and more diverse educational journey.”
LG's support encompasses funding for the Library on the Go, including a TV and speaker, as well as financial backing for the vehicle, books, and other resources. The Life’s Good Library On The Go van is outfitted with shelves filled with a variety of books and advanced educational tools, such as the LG TV and LG XL7S speaker, to create an interactive learning environment. Additionally, the mobile library is equipped with tents, benches, tables, and mats to provide a comfortable outdoor learning area, making it adaptable for a range of educational activities. During the inauguration ceremony, additional activities included a complimentary eye check-up conducted by Dr. Nathaniel Monloy from Monloy Vision Care Clinic, who provided crucial vision screenings for the children. The event also featured engaging storytelling sessions and arts and crafts workshops.
