Kuwaiti Students Join US Robotics World Championship

  • Kuwait's Ministry of Education proudly announces its participation in the Robotics World Championship held in Dallas, Texas, USA. The country is represented by three high school teams and one middle school team, joining a vast array of 1,800 teams from 40 nations. The championship is scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 3.

Mona Salem, serving as the General Director of Computers at the Ministry of Education, expresses her profound excitement for this global initiative. She highlights that the Kuwaiti teams earned their positions through outstanding performance in the qualifiers of the Kuwait National Robotics Competition held in March. These qualifiers were conducted by the Department of Computer Science at Kuwait University's College of Science, with strategic support from the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, a prominent institution under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. Additionally, the Zain Mobile Telecommunications Company played a pivotal role in supporting this endeavour.

Salem stresses the significance of this participation as a remarkable opportunity for students to engage in cross-cultural interactions and glean insights from diverse perspectives. She emphasizes that the experience will not only enhance the practical and theoretical skills of the participants but also nurture innovation, critical thinking, and teamwork. Salem extends her heartfelt best wishes to all Kuwaiti teams competing in this prestigious event. As Kuwaiti students gear up to showcase their talents and innovation on the international stage, anticipation rises for their performance and contributions to the field of robotics.
