The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH), in collaboration with the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) and IHub-Data, has launched a pioneering online course titled 'AI for Medical Professionals'. This 12-week course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills to harness AI technologies in clinical settings, enhancing both patient care and operational efficiency.
The course encompasses a comprehensive curriculum, including foundational theories and practical tutorials on AI, machine learning, deep learning, and their applications in clinical scenarios such as screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and patient management. Participants will also delve into the ethical and governance aspects of AI use in medicine.
Delivered through video lectures, weekly contact sessions, and case studies, the program integrates quizzes, assignments, and assessments, culminating in a certification upon successful completion.
Currently, around 200 medical professionals from diverse specialties and locations across India, including senior faculty and research members from leading medical institutions, are enrolled in the course. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between advanced AI technologies and medical practice, fostering a more informed and technologically adept healthcare workforce. Eminent faculty members from IIITH and NAMS are spearheading the instructional efforts for this groundbreaking program.
