GEM Education said to invest RM100mil in the Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia, an initiative to grow world class talent and offer industry relevant education in the fast-evolving semiconductor industry.
According to a statement released, Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation said strategic investment places Malaysia further up the value chain in global semiconductor landscapes and accelerates the growth of advanced talent and research initiatives.
In the second day of SDEC 2024, partnerships were formalized by signing MoUs and LOIs with 19 collaborating universities. Sidec noted that these agreements enhance cooperation in such dimensions as talent development, sharing of research, and collaborative projects to strengthen academia-industry ties.
Earlier, AI Nusantara, ASEM was an innovative initiative by Selangor Digital School in cooperation with The Hive Southeast Asia and Sidec.
Day two of SDEC also saw the graduation of 30 lecturers under the Train-the-Trainer, or TTT, program in partnership with Sidec, The Hive Southeast Asia, and Taiwan AI Academy. This program will give the educators basic skills for semiconductor education so they can be best-equipped to mentor the next set of tech masters.
It would also accord recognition to the achievements of 450 people who have completed ASEM's specialized training, hence acquiring knowledge on LLM Application Design and Object Detection, among other things, thus placing them well as future leaders of Malaysia's digital economy.
The SDEC 2024 Exhibition, which boasts more than 200 exhibitors, started on Wednesday and thus far has garnered much attention due to its display of the most recent cut-edge innovations, including AI-powered technologies. It's an expo hub where industry leaders, startups, and investors get around the networking game and forging partnerships over the latest technological inventions.
The exhibition, of course, is the flagship event of the convention. Business executives and technology enthusiasts are now being caught up in the excitement, looking forward to shaking hands with the future of AI, robotics, and digital transformation.
