Filipino Tech Company: Achieving Education Gap Through Affordable tablets, scholarships

  • While many would argue that the start of a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic was not the best time to launch a venture in one of the most volatile markets in any economy, Filipino-owned ABC Tech Ventures Inc. took a chance by anticipating the challenges that the Philippine educational system would face. The newly created firm then produced its first range of instructional tablets aimed at a younger demographic. These electronic devices were designed to assist educators around the country in providing a better learning experience for their students, as well as to empower students with gadgets that are inexpensive, simple to use, and would make the transition from face-to-face classes to online classes less stressful. There was a huge demand for these tablets during the time when face-to-face classes couldn’t be held. Three years later, the company is not only thriving, but has become a driving force and important technology partner in the education sector.

According to the firm, what distinguishes their range of tablets from other devices is that, although other manufacturers design and develop operating systems with the average adult in mind, the company addresses the requirements and interests of much younger users. Some versions also include skid-proof coverings, vivid colors, and even appealing characters to keep children interested. The business debuted a series of more advanced tablets for youngsters with more refined preferences on July 28. These tablets have a more sophisticated appearance than their vividly colored cousins targeted for younger children. Furthermore, the tablets are outfitted with specifications that suit to their educational demands, allowing students to satisfy the criteria of higher grade levels. The tablets that have lately been introduced are the X8, X10, and X10 Plus. All tablets have greater longevity by being waterproof and dustproof, allowing them to survive the rigors of regular student use. Although functional, they have the clean aesthetic of more expensive tablets and come in four colors: charcoal black, azure blue, rose gold, and graphite gray. Higher-end versions offer twin cameras, one with an 8MP front-facing camera and one with a 13MP rear-facing camera, which should be more than enough for filming and documenting everything required for class. In comparison, the X8 sports an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

Each gadget is designed for a certain age group, and the most noticeable variation is the size and storage capacity of the devices. The X8 screen is 8.0 inches in size, is ideally suited for elementary school pupils, and offers 32GB of storage. The X10, the option for high school students, comes with an increase of 64GB of storage and a 10.1-inch screen. The X10 Plus, the next model up, includes comparable features to the X10 but a slightly bigger screen at 10.4 inches and 128GB of storage. These tablets feature specs that make them the most effective for their intended age range, and as the user's expected education increases the demands on the software they use and the variety of apps they require, the models rise in power and processing capabilities.  This year, the business wants to manufacture 100,000 tablets while also expanding its collaborations and partnerships. The firm has teamed with Dream Lab, a 300+ square meter learning facility that provides an interactive environment designed to stimulate the creative brains of young emerging entrepreneurs aged 12 and under. ABC Tech Inc. inked a memorandum of understanding with EdVenture, an online tutorial platform for kids in preschool through grade 10, as part of its objective to empower students and learners.. Subjects offered include Singapore Math, Science, Reading, English, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan. The platform is an added value service for customers who will purchase the tablets until December 31.  In order to help level the playing field for less fortunate students, the company has made significant investments in the Windows of Opportunity scholarship initiative (WOOP), which aims to provide scholarships to students who deserve a better education but may not have the financial means to obtain one. This local firm has overcome adversity and is dedicated to assist others in doing the same.
