27 outstanding young scholars from the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Baptist University, and the Education University of Hong Kong were invited to the tour, which was jointly hosted by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center and the Hong Kong Alumni Association of Beijing Universities.
Peking University, the Huairou Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Platform of Advanced Photon Source Technology R&D, the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center, the Beijing Graphene Research Institute, and Baidu Group were among the places the delegation visited in Beijing. They were able to have a better understanding of China's cutting-edge technologies and key development platforms as well as explore opportunities for talent exchange and collaboration.
The delegation also went to famous locations like the Forbidden City and the Olympic Park to see special exhibitions at the Capital Museum and the National Museum of China. Here, they got to see how tradition and modernity collide with the past and the present. The four-day trip is an educational, technological, and cultural journey that gives Hong Kong's young talents a better understanding of the motherland's development and Beijing's allure.
