Catch Up on the New Pathways from College to Career/Job World

  • There have been enormous developments in the education sector of the country in the wake of new technology innovations. The Ed-tech sector has immensely disrupted the domain and has made institutions reimagine the style of education that has been provided until now. With the help of modern technology, educational institutions are now building lessons that are more interactive which are utterly helpful in the understanding of a student. Technology innovations have also opened pathways for new subjects that are attracting students from across the world. Courses on IOT, AI, ML and other disruptive technologies are becoming widespread in India. Many regional institutions are offering these courses in collaboration with foreign universities which is bringing about a massive change in the sector.

Technology has also influenced the growth of marketing technologies and courses in digital marketing have also opened up pathways for new careers in this domain. The educational institutions are also moving hand in hand with the latest technology innovations and are trying to be aware of all the developments that are taking place in this sector.  They are not only integrating the latest innovations into study models but also offering courses on these technologies in order to add value to the sector as a whole. Candidates have shown huge interest in pursuing these courses as they offer a career option which is in line with the developments taking place in the industry. In this way, students are able to gain knowledge and give it back to the society.

However, a problem that can be observed is that even after college degrees, students are unable to pursue good career options as specializations are required in any industry today. This is why they go for specialized courses preferably in the technology domain in order to gain the specializations that are required to pursue a safe and sustainable career. It is exactly in this area that specialized courses and crash courses have gained a lot of recognition recently. Many companies like UpGrad, Unacademy and others have developed a set of courses based on the requirements of the modern job world and are hugely facilitating candidates gain a good amount of specialization in the areas they are interested in. E.g, Data Science is Data Mining are two options that are being hugely undertaken by students right now because of the growing importance of data in the business ecosystem. We can see students pursue successful careers with reputed companies in this domain.

Talking specifically about the Ed-tech sector, it has been a real game changer in the education system. Since the inception of Byju’s, India’s first Ed-tech platform with the sponsorship of Facebook’s Founder Mark Zuckerberg and other prominent personalities, there has been a great boom in this sector. Online courses have become a part of the education system of the country and it had become a norm since the first lockdown because of COVID-19. Through this exercise, the nation was able to realize that education can also be provided online but with a proper curriculum. Ed-tech platforms have become very calculative in their approach and we have witnessed the emergence of various Ed-tech companies with an outcome oriented focus. The ultimate goal of these companies has always been to place the students in their aspired domains.

Universities and colleges on the other hand are transforming their way of education by means of technology. The institutions are not only combining modern technology with study material, but also adding courses in innovative tech domains such as AR, VR, Digital Marketing, 3D and so on. The colleges are also creating career options for students in this domain by arranging internship opportunities for them after completion of courses. As a whole, it can be said that the education sector of the country is on a right track with newer technology innovations disrupting the domain every day.
