Zayed University Broadens Its Academic Offerings for the Coming Year

  • Zayed University (ZU) is embarking on a significant expansion of its academic offerings by introducing 11 new bachelor's programs starting in the upcoming Fall semester. This initiative aligns with the UAE's national agenda and reflects ZU's commitment to addressing priority sectors identified at the national level. The diverse range of disciplines covered by these new programs underscores ZU's dedication to enriching its academic portfolio and meeting the evolving needs of students and industries.

These additional programs will be available across six colleges within ZU: the College of Business, College of Communication and Media Studies, College of Humanities and Social Studies, College of Natural and Health Sciences, College of Technological Innovation, and College of Arts and Creative Enterprises. This expansion highlights ZU's pledge to offer comprehensive educational opportunities that align with national priorities.

Shamma Al Mazrui, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the importance of providing students with degree options that resonate with their career aspirations and prepare them for the competitive job market. Al Mazrui stressed that education should serve as a platform for students to explore their passions and contribute positively to the UAE and beyond.

The new bachelor's programs are now accessible through the National Admissions & Placement Office (NAPO) system, facilitating enrollment for prospective students planning to commence their studies in the upcoming academic year. These programs will complement ZU's innovative interdisciplinary curriculum launched in 2021.

Professor Michael Allen, Acting Vice President of Zayed University, expressed enthusiasm about this expansion, highlighting ZU's role as a hub for Emirati students to engage in critical thinking and learning. With the introduction of these new programs alongside their interdisciplinary offerings, ZU aims to strike a balance that meets both student needs and the demands of the job market.
