VIT Engineering Entrance Exam Starts for Engineering Admissions

  • The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) administers the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) for admission to its B Tech programs across its various campuses, including VIT-Vellore, VIT-Chennai, VIT-AP (Amaravati), and VIT-Bhopal. The exam will be conducted as a Proctored Computer Based Test from April 19 to 30 in 125 cities within India and six cities abroad, namely Dubai, Muscat, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.

    Candidates from all states and Union Territories of India are eligible to participate in VITEEE-2024. The results are expected to be released tentatively on May 3, 2024, on the official website. Simultaneously, the online counselling process will commence on the same day. Applicants within the top 100,000 ranks are eligible to participate in the counselling process for admission to B Tech programs across all campuses of VIT-Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP, and VIT-Bhopal.

    The counselling sessions will be conducted in phases based on rank categories. Phase 1, scheduled for May 7 and 8, 2024, is for ranks 1 to 20,000. Phase 2, on May 18 and 19, 2024, is for ranks 20,001 to 45,000. Phase 3, on May 29 and 30, 2024, is for ranks 45,001 to 70,000. Phase 4, from June 9 to 10, 2024, is for ranks 70,001 to 100,000. 

    Applicants with ranks above 100,000 are eligible for counselling only at VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal, scheduled for June 20 and 21, 2024. Classes are anticipated to commence in the second week of July 2024.

    Through the G V School Development Programme (GVSDP), candidates achieving top ranks in VITEEE are granted tuition fee waivers. Ranks 1 to 10 receive a 100% fee waiver for all four years, ranks 11 to 50 receive a 75% fee waiver, ranks 51 to 100 receive a 50% fee waiver, and ranks 101 to 500 receive a 25% fee waiver.
