Vietnam's Minister Explores LETI's Scientific and Educational Potential

  • During their visit to ETU "LETI" in St. Petersburg, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, led by Deputy Minister Hoàng Minh Sơn, explored avenues for enhancing educational and scientific cooperation. ETU "LETI" regards collaboration with Vietnam as a priority, being one of the foremost institutions in fields such as electronics, advanced wireless technologies, artificial intelligence, and medical engineering. 

    The university excels in radio-electronic and information systems, life support technologies, and environmental protection. ETU "LETI" has a longstanding relationship with Vietnam, dating back to 1965, with 810 Vietnamese students having graduated from the institution. The LETI Alumni Association in Vietnam remains an active partner. The university aims to refine its applicant selection process and develop new joint educational programs to attract talented Vietnamese students, addressing Vietnam's educational needs.

    Deputy Minister Hoàng Minh Sơn highlighted the fruitful history of cooperation between ETU "LETI" and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He emphasized Vietnam's interest in the scientific and technological areas where ETU "LETI" excels, such as nanotechnology and IT. Noting the success of Vietnamese graduates, many of whom hold significant positions and excel in scientific research, he pointed out that currently, 53 Vietnamese students are enrolled at ETU "LETI". He expressed satisfaction with their performance and optimism for continued success.

    Anastasia Minina, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at ETU "LETI", discussed future international collaboration prospects and highlighted the university's key scientific and educational initiatives. She also detailed the various opportunities available to international students, including English-taught master’s and postgraduate programs, summer schools, and the LETIteach Engineers Training online courses, showcasing the university's commitment to global education.
