A formal recognition by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has been received and confirmed as a Student Chapter by the University of Doha for Science and Technology(UDST) for its Chemical Engineering Department. This recognition creates many professional and academic opportunities for UDST students in chemical engineering.
This new chapter status will give students immediate access to AIChE's large network; therefore, they can reach their industry professionals and future employers. Beyond that, the chapter will also give students some influential tools like mentorship programs and career fairs so that it can give support and guidance in the industry of chemical engineering.
The chapter will offer a variety of learning opportunities, including participation in AIChE conferences, workshops, and webinars, where students can enhance their academic knowledge and professional skills. Additionally, the chapter will empower students to take on leadership roles, organizing events and gaining essential project management experience.
Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of University of Doha for Science and Technology, said: "We are proud to announce the establishment of a student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) on our campus. This significant achievement for the Chemical Engineering Department reflects our commitment to providing world-class engineering education that aligns with the latest developments. The recognition will also give our students the opportunity to connect with industry experts, participate in advanced research projects, and build strong professional networks, preparing them to thrive in today’s competitive job market".
Setting up this new AIChE student chapter at UDST will give students academic and professional resources to enable their noble quest, thus enriching learning experiences. It will help them prepare as leaders of chemical engineering, well equipped to take up industry challenges and offer true value contributions in the growth and advancement of the field.
