UAE University hosts the 9th Graduate Student Research Conference

  • The UAE University (UAEU) recently hosted its ninth annual "Graduate Student Research" conference, aiming to underscore the pivotal role of graduate student research in advancing the UAE's ambitious vision of becoming the most developed country globally by 2071.

    The conference took place at the Crescent Building within the university campus and drew notable attendees including Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU; Dr. Mohamed Al Mualla, Under-Secretary for Academic Affairs at the Ministry of Education; Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President of Khalifa University and Chair of the Conference's Steering Committee; Prof. Ghaleb Albreiki, Acting Vice Chancellor of UAEU; Dr. Abdelqader Abusafieh, Senior Vice President for Technology & Advanced Materials at Strata Manufacturing; and Prof. Ahmed Murad, Associate Provost for Research at UAEU. The event also saw the participation of university presidents, faculty members, and a diverse cohort of graduate students.

    In his welcoming address, Zaki Nusseibeh emphasized the significance of graduate students as the future drivers of intellectual research and innovation. He stressed the essence of the conference lying in idea exchange, knowledge dissemination, and collaborative efforts towards academic excellence. Nusseibeh highlighted the transformative potential of collective endeavours, wherein individual research journeys converge into a unified pursuit of shaping the future through the shared intellect.

    The Chancellor of UAEU reiterated the nation's unwavering commitment to advancing higher education. He acknowledged graduate students as the primary catalysts for research and innovation within universities, emphasizing their indispensable role in propelling global research prominence. Recognizing the challenges faced by graduate students, he reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to supporting their academic endeavours.
