Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan Universities in Talks for Collaborative Initiatives

  • The Institute of International Relations Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the University ADA of the Republic of Azerbaijan recently held a virtual meeting to discuss collaboration between the two institutions. Key participants included the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, G. Eliasov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Republic in Turkmenistan, G. Gezalov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, G. Yusupova, and others.

    The primary purpose of the bilateral meeting was to enhance and facilitate the development of cooperation in the realms of science and education. This involved strengthening ties between the universities of both nations through the implementation of educational initiatives, collaborative projects, and scientific endeavours. During the meeting, specific areas of joint work and prospective interactions were discussed.

    The focus was on organizing seminars, conducting joint scientific research, and preparing and publishing scientific articles, textbooks, and educational materials. Additionally, the potential for an exchange of educational programs was explored. Throughout the discussions, representatives from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan universities provided comprehensive insights into the scientific activities carried out in their respective institutions. The participants expressed mutual interest and eagerness for future collaboration and cooperation. 

    ADA University was established under the decree dated January 13th, 2014, by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The University is a state higher education institution engaged in the delivery of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in addition to the advancement of research. The University is the legal heir of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) and Information Technologies University. They were merged in January 2014 to establish ADA University.
