Padang Wicaksono, the Director of Vocational Education Program at the University of Indonesia (UI), stated that the integration of education with the industrial sector is now extended globally. In a statement, he expressed his desire for UI's vocational students to emerge as globally competitive fresh graduates, bringing pride to Indonesia through international collaboration programs. Wicaksono emphasized that UI's Vocational Education is dedicated to producing job-ready graduates by providing them with a curriculum based on practical experience and direct engagement with the industry.
Wicaksono mentioned that a few UI vocational students, namely Dawsan Nomero Maulando and Keisha Mayra Faiza Amaris Hermawan from the Media Production Study Program, along with Thariq Arsyad Fauzi from the Public Relations Study Program, seized the chance to undertake internships at Customer Experience Insight Pty Ltd (CX Insight) in Perth, Australia. These students had the opportunity to intern at CX Insight, a company specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX), and other areas associated with artificial intelligence.
During their time at CX Insight, they acquired fresh insights into design, event management, UI and UX research, as well as marketing. In the marketing department, Fauzi focused on content planning, data analysis, and conducting interviews to fulfill company requirements. Meanwhile, Hermawan and Maulando delved into the application of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and design in digital and print media design, along with UX research. Fauzi mentioned that the internship program, conducted from November to December 2023, not only enhanced their hard skills but also honed their soft skills in effectively managing work priorities across various projects. They actively participated in the Diversity and Innovation Tech Fest 2023, where numerous innovators and entrepreneurs gathered.
