The SM Store Relaunches 'Shop & Share for Education', Distributes Back-to-School Kits to 12,000 Children

  • The SM Store, in collaboration with SM Stationery (SSI), the SM Foundation, and World Vision, has successfully relaunched its 'Shop & Share for Education' program, distributing back-to-school kits to 12,000 grade school students across over 70 public schools nationwide.

In Cebu, the initiative reached 1,350 students from Mandaue City Central School, Mandaue City SPED Central School, Opao Elementary School, and Umapad Elementary School. This distribution event coincided with the upcoming opening of SM Store’s 76th location at JMall Mandaue.

The revamped program allows customers to support underprivileged students directly by purchasing back-to-school kits. For every minimum single-receipt purchase of PHP 3,000 at participating SM Stores, shoppers can contribute PHP 100 to buy a school kit for a child.

SM Store’s commitment to education is evident as it supports students in starting the academic year equipped with essential supplies. The initiative underscores the importance of social responsibility and offers an accessible way for shoppers to make a difference. A PHP 100 donation may seem small but significantly impacts the lives of children from underserved communities.

Through 'Shop & Share for Education', SM Store, alongside its customers and partners, continues to ensure that Filipino children have access to the crucial tools needed for quality education. This program highlights how collective efforts and modest contributions can drive meaningful change in the educational landscape.
