Sunway University has collaborated with Arizona State University (ASU), ranked among the top innovative universities in the United States, to provide students with opportunities to pursue high-quality programs of study in highly sought-after fields under American degree programs. This collaboration enables students to enjoy an enhanced American education while based in Malaysia.
Launched in 1987 as a Twinning Programme by the School of American Education under its auspices, the American Degree Transfer Program has matured into a Transfer Programme. Modeled after the American university system, the program was designed to allow students the opportunity to complete the first two years of their undergraduate studies at Sunway University and then transfer to a university in the United States to complete the final years of their degree.
Over 100 freshman and sophomore-level courses offered in the ADTP were developed in consultation with American universities to ensure that students transfer seamlessly to America to complete their studies. The SAE also offers some upper-level courses.
Most students complete approximately 60 credits in Sunway’s ADTP before transferring overseas for degree completion, while some opt for additional courses. With the strategic partnership with Arizona State University, students will be able to maximise their credit transfer to one of the top universities in the world.
Our students have transferred to highly ranked universities in the US and Canada, including Arizona State University, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, New York University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, and Boston University.
The school encourages volunteerism among its students, who can choose from over 80 campus clubs catering to their interests. They can also join the SAE Student Committee, which organizes charity events and social activities throughout the year.
