SUKA Society Aids Indigenous Children's English Learning in Malaysia

  • FBS, a prominent global brokerage firm, teamed up with SUKA Society to orchestrate an English Children Camp, aimed at enriching the lives of indigenous children in Malaysia's Perak State. Driven by its commitment to fostering positive change within communities, FBS sponsored the syllabus for the camp, contributing to the establishment of early learning initiatives in the area.

The FBS-sponsored English Children Camp, held in early March 2024 in Tapah and facilitated by SUKA Society, gathered around 80 children residing in remote villages of Batang Padang District. During the two-day program, the young participants honed their English language skills and participated in entertaining educational activities designed to make learning both enjoyable and effective.

Yi Ting, Resource Coordinator at SUKA Society, expressed gratitude for the partnership with FBS, emphasizing the significant impact of FBS's support. Through this collaboration, SUKA Society was able to provide all necessary materials for the children, enhancing their overall educational experience. Additionally, an English class was organized for parents, responding to the community's request and garnering deep appreciation from parents who previously lacked access to education opportunities.

The opportunity for both children and parents to learn English in a fun and engaging manner not only ignites their passion for education but also creates avenues for a brighter future. The anticipation is high for the continued collaboration between SUKA Society and FBS to foster lasting positive change within the communities they are privileged to serve.

Aizzat Arfa, FBS's Official Representative in Malaysia, conveyed enthusiasm, affirming FBS's belief in the transformative power of knowledge and its eagerness to enhance educational accessibility for underserved communities. The English Children Camp represents the second joint project between FBS and SUKA Society under the Empowered2Teach initiative in Peninsular Malaysia.
