Embraer and CAE have officially introduced the first E-Jets E2 Full Flight Simulator in Singapore, a big step for aviation training in the Asia Pacific. This simulator is part of the joint venture Embraer CAE Training Services, showcasing the region's commitment to enhancing pilot training programs.
The E-Jets E2 training program by ECTS will use CAE's Competency-Based Training Assessment materials. The program combines hands-on training on the advanced CAE 7000XR Series FFS and interactive classroom education using the CAE Simfinity Virtual Simulator. Located near Changi Airport at the Singapore-CAE Flight Training Centre, it's designed for E2 operators in the Asia Pacific.
In preparation for the introduction of the Embraer E190-E2 into service later this year, Scoot airline pilots, a Singapore Airlines affiliate, are already undergoing training on the aircraft. The exposure to various flying scenarios in CAE's latest FFS enhances pilots' skills and readiness for the E2's first commercial flights.
Carlos Naufel, President & CEO of Embraer Services & Support, expressed gratitude to all contributors for the smooth operation of the E2 simulator. This reflects Embraer's commitment to expanding infrastructure in Asia Pacific and supporting the aviation industry in the region.
CAE's Civil Aviation Training division president, Michel Azar-Hmouda, highlighted the technological innovations in the E2 program. The simulator, certified by Singapore's Civil Aviation Authority, is used with interactive touch screen sessions to speed up learning. The VSIM provides effective familiarization and practice for commercial pilot training by granting access to every aircraft system.
