Seoul Cyber University has announced a pioneering dual degree agreement with California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), in what would be the first online university in South Korea to offer an international dual degree program, officials from the university confirmed.
The initiative allows the students to stay at the School of Business in Seoul Cyber University for two years, after which they can go ahead to study two more years at CSUSB. By so doing, these two institutions can confer the degree on them. Normally, this program reaches the working professionals and adult learners while offering online classes. By so doing, these courses online help students gain both domestic and international degrees.
Seoul Cyber University has maintained a strong tie with CSUSB already. Last year, 2017, it became the first online university set up in Korea launching an exchange program with an American institution aiming at grooming global leadership and giving the exposure toward advanced higher education.
CSUSB is located in San Bernardino, California. It is a comprehensive research university and a part of the 23-campus California State University system. This university offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs at six colleges to about 20,000 students. Among the US News and World Report rankings of 2023, it was found among the top 100 public universities in the United States.
Lee Eun-joo of Seoul Cyber University expressed optimism about the cooperation and said, "We are looking forward to full synergy in this agreement on both sides. Seoul Cyber University will actively support cooperation and partnership collaboration with CSUSB."
