SB Finance (SBF), a subsidiary of Security Bank, has joined forces with financial literacy advocate Salve Duplito and her company, Empower and Transform (EAT), to roll out a series of financial literacy programs. This collaboration was formalized with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two parties, marking the start of various initiatives designed to enhance the financial well-being of SB Finance's customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
"At SB Finance, we believe financial literacy is not just about managing money, but it is also about empowering individuals to make informed decisions that can shape their futures", said SB Finance President and CEO Abbie Dans-Casanova. "Our partnership with Salve Duplito's Empower and Transform is a strategic move to provide our employees and customers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of financial management. By fostering a culture of financial responsibility, we aim to create a ripple effect that benefits, not just our immediate community, but society as a whole".
A key component of this partnership is the introduction of the 'Utang Manual,' a detailed guide authored by Salve Duplito specifically for SB Finance. This manual is designed to support ongoing financial education for both employees and customers, offering practical advice on managing personal finances and sharing financial knowledge with the community. Salve Duplito, a recognized advocate for financial education in the Philippines, has been honored by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other professional bodies. In addition to her role as a financial educator, she is also a TV news anchor and radio host.
"Financial education is a critical tool for empowerment and economic stability", said Financial Beshie ng Bayan and EAT Founder and President Salve Duplito. "Through this partnership, we aim to equip SB Finance employees and customers with practical financial skills that can lead to better financial health and security. Our goal is to demystify financial concepts and make them accessible, allowing individuals to take control of their financial destinies and contribute to a financially literate society".
Following the launch of the 'Utang Manual,' Salve Duplito and her team will conduct a series of financial literacy workshops. These workshops are designed to provide SBF employees and customers with crucial financial management skills, fostering a culture of financial responsibility and empowerment.
