Saudi Arabia Launches Cultural Scholarship Program to Nurture Young Talent

  • Saudi Arabia recently introduced a Cultural Scholarship Program that will develop talent among young Saudis, giving them the opportunity to pursue education from public schools abroad in esteemed institutions of culture. Launched by Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah, the scholarship is meant to fund students who are in grade five of basic school through third year secondary, merging studies in the academic areas with advanced arts and cultural specialist training.

Students will have a chance to study at globally renowned schools that specialize in music, theater, visual arts, and other arts fields. Through this experience, students will enhance their academic and professional opportunities and contribute to global cultural exchange. Students will learn in world-class cultural settings, developing valuable knowledge that can open doors to university studies and subsequent careers in the Kingdom's developing cultural industry.

The program combines core academic courses, including mathematics and science, with hands-on art instruction to provide students with a well-rounded, comprehensive education. It's a central part of the Ministry of Culture's overall strategy to develop cultural capacities and invest in the next generation of creative leaders.

Consistent with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the project aims to diversify cultural occupations, promote cross-cultural dialogue at a global level, and drive the development of the country's creative industries. By empowering creatives in their younger years, the program illustrates the Kingdom's drive to develop a thriving, energetic cultural sector in the years to come.
