South Asian University (SAU) has officially opened applications for the 2025-26 academic session, unveiling an array of new programs and expanded opportunities for students across the region.
Announcing the development, SAU President Prof. K K Aggarwal emphasized the university's commitment to fostering high-quality education and regional collaboration. The institution is undergoing a transformative phase, with operations shifting to a sprawling 100-acre permanent campus at Maidan Garhi after years at its temporary location in Akbar Bhawan.
SAU, which offered only Master’s and PhD programs until 2023, made a significant leap in 2024 by introducing a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering. Building on this progress, the university now offers around 1,300 seats across various disciplines, with several innovative programs designed to meet evolving industry demands.
The B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering now features sought-after specializations such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Business Systems & Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Data Science & AI. Additionally, SAU has introduced a B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing, aimed at equipping students with advanced analytical and computational skills crucial for modern technological fields.
To promote interdisciplinary learning, the university has launched Integrated Programs, including an Integrated BS-MS in Interdisciplinary Sciences and an Integrated BBA-MBA, allowing students to transition seamlessly from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. For those with a four-year undergraduate degree, SAU now offers one-year Master’s programs, enabling faster entry into the workforce with advanced qualifications.
The university has further expanded its postgraduate offerings, adding an Executive MBA tailored for working professionals and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Meanwhile, established programs like M.Tech., MSc (Computer Science), MSc Biotechnology, MA Sociology, MA International Relations, MA Economics, and LLM continue to attract students.
On the research front, SAU has introduced an Executive PhD program, catering to professionals seeking to pursue advanced research without pausing their careers.
In a major step towards digital education, SAU has launched a Virtual Campus, offering online degree and certificate programs that match the academic rigor and faculty expertise of on-campus courses.
With these expansions, SAU continues to position itself as a premier institution driving academic excellence and regional cooperation in South Asia, empowering students to thrive in an ever-changing global landscape.
