Experts from Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence(MBZUAI) to present AI research and highlight Creative Robotics Solutions at the (IEEE/RSJ) International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, IROS 2024, in Abu Dhabi, October 14-18.
The University has been successful in recruiting the world's best talent in robotics-including, for example, with Professor Yoshihiko Nakamura of humanoid robotics and biomechanics joining as Head of the Department of Robotics. The new Vice President for research and Professor of robotics is Professor Sami Haddadin. Professor Nakamura was working on human-digital-twin technology and human-robot interaction, while Professor Haddadin was recognized for work in tactile robotics, robot learning, and safety.
This commitment to bringing the world's best experts in AI and robotics together is strengthened further by adding Professors Haddadin and Nakamura, whose innovative work takes the boundaries of research beyond and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration within our university," said Prof Eric Xing, President of MBZUAI. This will be an exciting time in the history of MBZUAI-the building up of our robotics department and the welcoming of our first cohort of students.
