Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar's leading digital bank, joined forces with INJAZ Qatar, a leading non-profit organization that empowers Qatari youth economically and socially, to sponsor its three-year educational program. The program is designed to uplift life skills for Grade 7 and Grade 9 preparatory students in Qatari public schools as supervised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The agreement was signed between Mr. Bassel Gamal, QIB CEO, and Mr. Emad Al Khaja, CEO of INJAZ Qatar, at the headquarters of QIB on Grand Hamad Street.
The program is called 'Life Skills for Preparatory Students'. It has two separate courses designed for Grade 7 and Grade 9 students. Grade 7 students will engage in the 'It's My Business' program that introduces design thinking and lets them experience hands-on entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, Grade 9 students will engage in the 'It's My Future' program which prepares the students for the professional world through personal branding, job-hunting skills, and career exploration. By the end of the program, students will be well prepared to research potential career paths, build their resumes, prepare for job interviews, and understand the distinction between soft and technical skills required in the workforce.
INJAZ Qatar will train all Grade 7 and Grade 9 teachers who will be part of the project on the program content and how to deliver the sessions.
Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Bassel Gamal GCEO of QIB said: “We are pleased to renew our collaboration with INJAZ Qatar to invest in youth and empower them by strengthening their financial literacy.
