Qatar-France Higher Education Summit Advances Scientific Collaboration

  • The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) recently hosted the Qatari French Meeting for Higher Education and Scientific Research, titled "France Day in Qatar." The event, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Qatar and the Office of the Qatar Cultural Attaché in the French Republic, welcomed prominent figures, diplomats, academics, and representatives of French public universities. It aims to strengthen strategic partnerships in academic and research domains, fostering collaboration between Qatari and French higher education institutions, particularly in student exchange programs and shared experiences.

Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education, Dr. Harib Al Jabri, highlighted the meeting's significance in fortifying knowledge connections between Qatar and France. He emphasized the potential for building a fruitful future for both countries' youth through cultural understanding and scientific cooperation.

The Ambassador of France to Qatar, H.E. Jean-Baptiste Faivre, underscored the meeting's importance in enhancing cooperation between the two nations in education, scientific research, and expertise exchange. He emphasized ongoing coordination to facilitate student exchange programs.

Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab, Permanent Representative of Qatar to Unesco, noted that the meeting provided an opportunity for presidents of prestigious French universities to familiarize themselves with educational institutions in Qatar, particularly in the Arabic language and culture. This exposure enhances Qatar's reputation as a leading destination for learning the Arabic language and acquiring Arab culture.
