Brendan O'Connor, the Australian equivalent, and Union Minister for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan met in New Delhi. The two ministers addressed ways to deepen and bolster the existing partnerships between the two nations in the fields of learning and skill acquisition. Pradhan stated that the two nations must look into strategies for replicating similar processes in India and prepare the youth for growing employment opportunities. He extended admiration for the way Australia has taken care of its precious resources, such as minerals, and increased the ability of its people.
He highlighted a number of fields that could potentially be deeply studied, including agricultural technology, water management, mining, renewable energy, and emerging technologies like AI and robots. The minister added that the relationship between India and Australia, which has become at a record-high level, is at its finest at this point. He asked for the carrying out of the agreement on Mutual Recognition of Qualifications between the two countries inked earlier this year intending to further improve two-way student and professional mobility among the two nations.
Minister O' Conner has also been invited by Pradhan to attend the 7th Australia-India Education and Skills Council event in Gandhinagar in September of this year. The opportunity presented by this conference will provide a chance for further momentum to be added to bilateral cooperation on education and skill development. Additionally, Minister O'Connor discussed boosting ties between the two nations. He stated that his country is making efforts to boost the efficiency of the visa application process and that restoring mobility for students is a top priority. Recent years have witnessed an improvement in ties between India and Australia under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recent events include the mutual recognition of educational and skill qualifications, the arrival of Deakin University in India, and continuous, developing skill development cooperation.
