PolyU Representatives Visit NTU's Suzhou Campus

  • Zhao Ruheng, Vice President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, led a delegation to visit Nanjing University, accompanied by Zheng Hairong, a member of Nanjing University's Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice President, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zheng Hairong warmly welcomed the PolyU delegation, highlighting Nanjing University's commitment to national development and modernization over its long history. 

    He emphasized the significance of Nanjing University's Suzhou campus and its focus on emerging engineering disciplines to adapt to evolving developmental contexts. Noting the longstanding history of collaboration between Nanjing University and PolyU, Zheng suggested expanding communication channels between the two institutions to deepen cooperation and drive innovation in scientific research.

    Zhao Ruheng reciprocated the warm reception, providing a comprehensive overview of Hong Kong Polytechnic University's achievements in talent development and scientific research. He acknowledged Nanjing University's esteemed legacy and expressed optimism about fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between the two universities.

    The meeting facilitated active discussions on various topics including academic disciplines, talent exchange, training, and industry-academic-research synergies. Prior to the meeting, the PolyU delegation explored key facilities at Nanjing University's Suzhou campus, underscoring their commitment to understanding the host institution's environment and resources.

    The event saw participation from distinguished figures such as Dean Wen Xiaozhong, Professor You Jia, and Lu Haitian, alongside representatives from various administrative bodies and academic departments. This inclusive engagement ensured a multifaceted exchange of ideas and perspectives.
