With this increased prevalence of technology in classrooms, most teachers today still seem to prefer a pencil and paper to be the core means of teaching. Science research continues to show how handwriting influences the processes in comprehension, retention of knowledge, and above all creativity. Jotit aspires to bring 'digital-paper' into the classroom, mashing up the advantages both of digital tools and traditional methods of using a pen and paper, so as to make learning more effective.
Jotit, with its simplicity and functionality, is already creating ripples in schools across the United States. It helps reduce administrative burdens, provides a distraction-free learning environment, and enhances classroom dynamics. Some of the advanced features include advanced handwriting recognition, real-time collaboration, and customizable workflows, which are proving effective in improving student engagement and performance, especially in K-12 education.
David Bleicher, Jotit's CEO and Co-Founder, was thrilled about the partnership with Owl Ventures and the company's mission to enhance education. "At Jotit, we aim to empower educators and students by fostering a distraction-free learning environment where handwriting takes center stage", said Bleicher. He emphasized that Owl Ventures' support will help scale Jotit's impact. “The tremendous support from Owl Ventures and our esteemed investors is a powerful endorsement of our vision. Together, we’ll expand our reach and empower more educators to leverage technology to improve learning and drive better results”, he added.
Jotit's approach is different because it introduces technology only where it reinforces proven educational value, like order, executive function, and active learning," Jenny Wang, partner at Owl Ventures, said. "We are excited to partner with the Jotit team and help scale this transformative platform to K-12 schools across the US and around the globe".
Backed by its investors, Jotit will redefine the role of technology in the classroom and become a trusted tool for K-12 education worldwide.
