OneQuantum PH Elevates Quantum Education through Lecture Series

  • Bulacan State University (BulSu) and OneQuantum PH are jointly propelling quantum computing education in the Philippines with the introduction of the BulSu Quantum Leap Lecture Series, a component of the Department of Science and Technology's (DOST-PCIEERD) RIEETOOL Program. This 12-week initiative concentrates on laying the groundwork for quantum computing, encompassing fundamental mathematical principles and complexity theory. It delves into various standard quantum algorithms such as Deutsch-Jozsa, Bernstein-Vazirani, Grover's algorithm, and Shor's algorithm, particularly in the context of RSA and elliptic curve cryptography. This collaboration aims to advance quantum knowledge and skills within the educational landscape.

Participants explore quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning, fostering innovation in quantum technologies. The program culminates in a panel presentation where attendees can suggest projects harnessing quantum computing. Beyond the current curriculum, the series covers quantum key distribution and briefly addresses post-quantum cryptography, equipping participants for secure communication in the quantum era. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in quantum computing education in the Philippines, ushering in a new era of technological innovation and expertise.

Bulacan State University (BulSU or BSU) is a publicly funded institution located in Malolos, Bulacan, Philippines. Originally established as a secondary school in 1904 during the American colonial period, it has evolved into one of the largest educational establishments in Region III. The university has a mandate to offer technical training, encourage research, facilitate advanced studies, and foster progressive leadership. Recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a Center for Excellence and Development, BulSU is also designated as a Training Center for teachers seeking education in fields outside their specialization, contributing to its prominence in the country's educational landscape.
