Off Paper Launches Learning Hubs and Buddy Program to Boost Global Literacy

  • Off Paper, a forward-thinking non-profit organization focused on using technology to drive impactful educational solutions, is thrilled to announce the expansion of its learning hubs across Southeast Asia and the launch of its innovative Buddy Program. These initiatives highlight the organization’s dedication to fostering community engagement, promoting growth, and transforming literacy education through the power of technology.

Founded in 2022, Off Paper started its mission by creating technology-driven educational learning spaces in Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Indonesia. This past May, the organization expanded further by adding four new locations in Malaysia. Later this year, additional learning hubs will open in Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore. These centers are equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling them to provide high-quality education through Off Paper’s proprietary learning app, which serves as both a learning companion for students and a teaching tool for educators.

The Off Paper learning app is distinguished by its user-friendly interface and interactive features, which promote independent learning and immersive educational experiences. Drawing from robust learning theories and cultural insights, the app offers progressive learning structures, interactive phonics courses, and an AI-powered eBook library, ensuring that every child can thrive academically.

Alongside the new learning hubs, Off Paper is excited to introduce the Buddy Program, a pioneering initiative that connects students across different regions through a digital cross-cultural exchange. The program seeks to create connections between students from diverse backgrounds, promoting global understanding and collaboration.

The Buddy Program holds significant importance. It goes beyond enhancing literacy; it’s about shaping global citizens. By linking students from various parts of the world, we are creating opportunities for them to explore new perspectives and engage in transformative learning experiences that will help mold the leaders of the future.

“This program is so important because it gives students an opportunity to understand where they can go in life and how they can get there”, said Sarah Charapp, Off Paper’s Global Ambassador. “Students who may never have understood what they can do can now set goals for themselves that are life-changing”.

Off Paper’s initiatives have already impacted over 500 children in rural communities across Southeast Asia, many of whom previously lacked access to formal education. The influence of Off Paper’s programs goes beyond academic achievement; they exemplify the power of visionary leadership and community-centered efforts.

"Off Paper is driven by a mission to not only teach literacy but to also inspire, lead, and transform communities through education", stated Chloe Heng, Founder at Off Paper. "Our new programs are pivotal in advancing this mission, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed and thrive in a rapidly evolving world".
