In a groundbreaking announcement, Nemcare Hospital has unveiled two major initiatives aimed at advancing medical education and enhancing community support. The hospital, known for its extensive healthcare services, revealed plans to provide one free MBBS education annually to a deserving student from a low-income background. This initiative is designed to offer a valuable opportunity to aspiring medical professionals who might otherwise face financial barriers to pursuing their medical education.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the hospital, which also marked the discharge of celebrated musician Zubeen Garg. Garg had been receiving treatment at Nemcare for seizure disease and complications arising from excessive exertion and sleep loss. Admitted on Sunday, Garg was successfully treated and discharged on Wednesday. Dr. Hitesh Baruah, who led Garg’s treatment, highlighted the critical role of rest in the artist’s recovery, attributing his condition to his demanding schedule and inadequate rest.
In addition to the educational initiative, Nemcare Hospital introduced a new community support program with the launch of a free-of-cost dead body-carrying van named 'Swargarath'. The van, designed to assist in the transportation of deceased individuals, was presented to the NGO 'Antaranga' by Zubeen Garg and Dr. Baruah during the press conference. The keys and a cheque for the van were handed over to the NGO, which will oversee the vehicle's operation.
Expressing his gratitude for the medical care he received, Zubeen Garg confirmed his intention to resume work the following day and visit the studio soon. He was accompanied by Dr. Baruah and Dr. Sanjeev Narayan, who also praised the hospital staff for their support. Garg reassured his fans of his recovery and upcoming projects, marking a hopeful note in his return to the public eye.
