NCHU Taiwan Teams Up with Amity University, to Explore Research

  • A delegation from National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in Taiwan, headed by Dr. Kai-Jung Chi, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, paid a visit to Amity University in NOIDA with the objective of exploring collaborative opportunities across academic and research domains. The focus areas for potential collaboration included agronomy, engineering, science, and technology.

    During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, delineating the terms for collaboration which encompassed faculty and staff exchanges, student exchange programs, the establishment of dual degree initiatives, joint research ventures, as well as the organization of lectures, symposia, and other agreed-upon activities.

    The NCHU delegation included notable figures such as Prof. Yin-Tsung Hwang from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Chien-Teh Chen, Chair of the Department of Agronomy, Asst. Prof. Shu-Yun Chen from the Department of Agronomy, Dr. Chandrasekar Sivakumar, a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Physics, and Ms. Inger Tsai, the Coordinator for the New Southbound Project at the Office of International Affairs.

    The event commenced with a Welcome Address, followed by an overview of the Amity Education Group presented by Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor. Dr. W Selvamurthy, DG ADSI & President ASTIF, shed light on research endeavours at Amity University.

    Dr. Kai-Jung Chi then provided an in-depth presentation on NCHU, delineating potential areas of collaboration between NCHU and Amity University. Representatives from both institutions elaborated on their respective academic and research strengths, setting the stage for discussions on potential collaboration avenues.

    Notable figures from Amity University included Dr. Nutan Kaushik, DG, AFAF, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS & Director, ABS, Dr. Sunita Rattan, Dean Faculty of Science & Technology & Director AIAS, among others, who participated in the discussions aimed at fostering collaboration.
