NAVTTC and NSU have joined forces to advance vocational and technical education, digitalization initiatives, and inclusive training programs, promising significant progress in line with both national and international standards. This decision emerged during NAVTTC Chairperson Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad's visit to NSU Islamabad.
The chairperson received a comprehensive briefing on the university's endeavours and ongoing ventures in vocational education. NSU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar presented detailed information on the university's contributions and projects during the meeting, attended by senior academic, administrative, and IT officials.
A notable highlight was the presentation of the UNEVOC Coaction Initiative 2022 Pilot Edition report titled "The Future of TVET: A Scenario-based Study of the Trends and Future Strategic Directions Driving the Evolution of the Sector," with NSU among six international partners.
Discussions between NAVTTC and NSU participants revolved around the 'Digitalization in TVET' initiative, a collaborative endeavour involving Shenzhen Polytechnic University China and partners from Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines. This initiative, building upon the UNEVOC Coaction project, underscores NSU's consistent commitment to advancing vocational education through digital means.
The Vice-Chancellor and his team shed light on ongoing short-skill courses and the advisory council's pivotal role. Comprising industry leaders, the council aids in developing curricula aligned with the demands of the job market.
The NAVTTC chairperson proposed the inclusion of NSU students in an upcoming job fair in Islamabad, aiming to enhance their employment prospects. Efforts by NSU to digitalize skills educational programs were also deliberated, with the NAVTTC chairperson expressing willingness to collaborate on establishing a blended learning system for vocational programs meeting both national and international standards.
