Bahrain Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CFA Society Bahrain to enrich educational experiences for students in the country and to contribute toward the nurturing of young Bahraini talent in the financial services sector. It also seeks to strengthen human resources to meet emerging labour market challenges.
The MoU was signed with Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, and Zeeba Askar, President of the CFA Society Bahrain.
Under the agreement, the society will offer Polytechnic students various opportunities, including fieldwork, professional training programmes, participation in applied research, and case study development. These initiatives aim to enhance students' skills and provide them with practical experience in investment, financial analysis, and accounting.
Professor Ó Catháin articulated the concept on which Bahrain Polytechnic was founded: the fostering of partnerships in all sectors of the country of Bahrain. This he said, fit well within the vision and strategic objectives of the Polytechnic, hence taking the lead in increasing the skills of its students and graduates. He pointed out that the agreement will provide students with hands-on experience in practical finance, prepare them for the job market, and help develop a new generation ready to fulfill the needs of the local, regional, and international markets.
The partnership is cited by Askar as important, bringing academic education and professional practice together for young Bahrainis. "In this collaboration, we would be providing student experiences, industry insights and valuable opportunities, thus graduating the students well-prepared to handle the financial sector and contribute positively to Bahrain's economic development", she said.
