MLV Ignite Equips High School Students with Business Skills: Vietnam

  • In Vietnam, two college sophomores, Dylan Kim and Timothy Liu, are bringing a positive change to high school education with their company, MLV Ignite. Their goal is to connect academic learning with real-world business skills for high school students. MLV Ignite isn't just another course; it's a pathway to the entrepreneurial world, offering financial literacy and practical skills that directly apply to the workforce.

Dylan Kim and Timothy Liu noticed a gap between traditional education and what the modern workforce needs. Drawing from their own experiences in entrepreneurship and education, they created MLV Ignite to provide more than just textbook knowledge. The pilot winter program, a hands-on learning experience, received an overwhelming response with 110 applicants competing for just 10 spots. This keen interest shows that students are looking for engaging, real-world learning opportunities.

MLV Ignite's curriculum goes beyond the classroom, covering various topics from business finance basics to managing a startup. What makes MLV Ignite special is its commitment to accessibility and affordability. Although it's a paid program, the founders are working hard to collaborate with schools, aiming for free enrollment to make sure every interested student can learn and grow.

One success story from MLV Ignite is Khoa Minh Nguyen Mau, a high school student who developed a startup idea for an academic tutoring app. This showcases the program's impact, proving that theoretical concepts, when applied through hands-on learning, can turn into successful business ideas.

Looking ahead, initiatives like MLV Ignite signal a positive change in high school education. By creating an environment where students can explore ideas, develop practical skills, and get early exposure to the business world, we're setting the stage for a new generation of entrepreneurs. These young minds, armed with knowledge and experience from such programs, are ready to tackle future challenges and contribute to a dynamic global economy.
