Minerva University Adds Tokyo to Global Rotation Program

  • Minerva University, renowned as the World's Most Innovative University, announces an impactful collaboration with The Nippon Foundation to address critical higher education challenges. The Foundation's substantial investment of $50 million over the next decade will facilitate the establishment of a new Minerva University global rotation city in Tokyo. This addition to Minerva's existing locations in San Francisco, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Hyderabad, Seoul, and Taipei will allow students to engage in hands-on projects while pursuing their undergraduate degrees.

This collaborative effort underscores both parties' dedication to fostering transformative learning experiences. Tokyo's unique blend of tradition and modernity presents an ideal setting for Minerva students to effect change in Japan and across Asia. Through partnerships with local entities, students will tackle societal issues while immersing themselves in the vibrant Japanese culture. Japan's global prominence in business offers ample opportunities for research, development, and professional networking.

The Nippon Foundation's role extends beyond financial support to facilitating collaborations with Japanese institutions, businesses, and nonprofits. The foundation will also create internship opportunities with start-ups, enabling students to gain practical experience in innovative industries.

Minerva University President Mike Magee expresses enthusiasm about incorporating Tokyo into the global rotation, highlighting the immersive year-long study opportunity made possible by The Nippon Foundation's support. The program aims to deepen students' understanding of Japanese culture while empowering them to contribute to positive social change.

Jumpei Sasakawa, Executive Director of The Nippon Foundation, commends Minerva University's innovative approach to education, emphasizing the active involvement of students in addressing local challenges. The Tokyo rotation is slated to commence in fall 2025, promising a dynamic learning experience for students.
