The Ministry of National Defense of South Korea has made public that remote study for reservists in their sixth year will be launched on April 28, 2025. This new initiative, marking the first such time that remote training has been undertaken, will last until May 11, 2025, and again from June 4 to June 20, 2025. This innovative new method seeks to provide these reservists with the wartime training they need using an easily accessed online platform.
As reported by Yonhap News, the remote education program is tailored to reservists who must undergo both pre-and post-mobilization training. The program includes four key subjects: First Aid and CBR defense, rear area enemy threat evaluation, and regional defense operations. Each trainee will be required to spend around two hours taking the training.
Reservists who complete this remote learning successfully will have their required mobilization training cut from six hours to four hours. This cut is a strong motivator, as it enables those who take part in the remote training to get their commitments done quicker. On the other hand, those who do not take part in the remote learning will be forced to complete the entire six hours of in-person mobilization training.
The Ministry of National Defense has further stated that the notifications of the remote education will be communicated to participants through mobile delivery. This new method not only simplifies communication but also makes sure that reservists are well informed of their training schedule and requirements.
