Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Suresh Gosavi of Savitribai Phule Pune University will visit MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education in Qatar from October 19 to 21. The visit is to build the academic programs, quality management, and examination processes there that are aligned with the parent university.
He will be accompanied by former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nitin Karmalkar in this first visit to Qatar. There, he will interact with the decision-makers for higher education, and his presence at Qatar University will allow him to conduct review meetings with the MIE SPPU executive committee.
It intends to confer its first batch of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in 2025, depending upon the achievement of the envisioned academic and research milestones on par with the mother university. Within the last year, nearly 200 fresh students enrolled with the institute for the 2024 academic year that has taken the total student strength up to about 500 students.
Yasir Nainar, the Institute, is upbeat about the interactive benefits that can be derived from great teachers such as Prof. Dr. Gosavi and Prof. Dr. Karmalkar for all stakeholders.
Prof. B. B. Nath, director, Institute, believes that this session will be instrumental in designing new courses and availability of expertise in industry-oriented teaching pedagogies.
