The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) will be hosting the first Global Conference on Economic Diversification on October 31 and November 1, 2024. The conference hopes to look into policy, thought leadership, and methodological and theoretical outcomes pertaining to economic diversification.
Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, will also attend the first edition of this annual conference, gathering thought leaders from some of the world's most prestigious universities, policy-making bodies, and international organizations, including UN agencies, the World Bank, the IMF, and the OECD.
MBRSG is organising the event at its headquarters in the Dubai World Trade Centre, based on its Economic Diversification Index (EDI) series, the influential publication and dataset MBRSG compiles and published annually at the World Government Summit.

With that in mind, and in line with our mission to empower the leaders of tomorrow and arm them with the knowledge they need to navigate the challenges that lie ahead, the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is organising the Global Conference on Economic Diversification 2024 the first of a series of annual forums to place the topic front and centre, bringing leading international experts and stakeholders to share their insight and expertise on the subject, and chart a roadmap for economic diversification in the years ahead”.
This encompasses panelling and roundtables on the outputs of the Index and initiatives and policies toward economic diversification.Sessions shall cover diversified topics on the issue of economic diversification, this in relation with complexity. Solutions to those specific and particular challenges about the whole Gulf region's economy through financing sustainable paths for economies' diversifications, including an international viewpoint of existing barriers to their economic diversification, plus further progresses in measuring world-scale diversified economies.
