Maldives Airports Company Limited(MACL), recently unveiled "MACL Career 2024" as a career guidance service for school students. According to them, the main purpose of this new programme is to inform the new generation about the current job opportunities within the aviation industry, mainly in airport operations.
The maiden fair for this project was held at Ghaazee School as part of MACL's corporate social responsibility. In the event MACL's CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed said that the purpose of the event is to provide technical skills to the Maldivians and introduces school leavers to various opportunities for career which exist in a large organization like MACL.
Located on a separate island itself, the Velana International Airport (VIA) handles not only the functions of an airport but also renders many municipal services. The institution offers diversified employment opportunities. Shareef expressed hopes that more Maldivians will operate in the company in the future.
The event included a lucky draw, in which 20 students got to explore more about the inner workings of MACL, and 10 received special gifts.
