Lasalle College Launches New Music Business Degree Program

  • LaSalle College of the Arts unveiled a new degree - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music Business- in the country's step towards shaping up aspiring professionals of the Singaporean music industry. This marks the country's very first dedicated programme to music business that will develop and prepare future leaders for agent, management, and producership roles as part of a shifting music scene.

Deputy President and Provost of Lasalle College, Dr. Venka Purushothaman, pointed out that Singapore's strategic position could foster music business leaders in today's digital, multilingual economy. The program will build on Lasalle's 40 years of experience in music education and strong industry partnerships to strengthen Singapore's music industry and its wider Asian influence.

The three-year program has a flexible curriculum with elective modules that include music production, artist management, and music marketing. Students will have hands-on experience through internships and projects with renowned music organizations, festivals, and labels, thus preparing them for real-world challenges in the music business.

Fees will be charged to students at SGD 21,582 per annum for Singaporean and permanent residents. Students from abroad are to pay at $29,212. The course starts in August this year. Intake is on. First intakes end by January 27.
