KU and Korean University sign MoU for Student Exchange Program

  • The University of Karachi (KU) and Kyungdong University Global of South Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate various exchange and collaborative programs. This agreement aims to establish student, faculty, and staff exchange initiatives, joint research projects, and short vocational training programs specifically for KU students and faculty members.

    The MoU was signed by KU’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Justice Retired Hasan Feroz, and the President of Kyungdong University Global, Professor Dr. John Lee, during a ceremony held at the VC Secretariat. A three-member delegation from Kyungdong University Global, including President Dr. John Lee, Associate Dean of International Faculty and Head of Artificial Intelligence, Professor Dr. Nur Alam, and the Managing Director of the Korean Universities Admission Centre, Julia Jung, visited KU for the occasion and met with the Acting Vice Chancellor, Justice (R) Hasan Feroz.

    During the event, Professor Dr. John Lee emphasized the significant potential for academic collaboration between KU and Kyungdong University Global. He highlighted that Kyungdong University Global has launched the Global Student Mobility Project and partners with numerous universities worldwide. Currently, the university hosts students from 80 different countries across various programs.

    Dr. Lee also mentioned that KU students have the opportunity to apply for fully funded scholarships at Kyungdong University Global after studying for one or two semesters at KU. Upon completion of their courses at Kyungdong University Global, these students will receive degrees from the South Korean university. This initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering international academic cooperation between the two institutions.
