KT&G Volunteers Enhance Education in Vietnam

  • The KT&G Social Welfare Foundation sent its college student volunteer group, 'SangSang Withus', to Vietnam from January 8 to 17, continuing its commitment to fostering global social responsibility. The 40-member team conducted various educational and cultural activities at Quoi Son Primary School in Ben Tre Province.

As part of the effort to improve the learning environment, the volunteers painted colorful murals on the school walls and engaged in teaching sessions using self-designed learning tools and curriculums. They also organised a series of engaging exchange programs, including Korean culture-themed performances, traditional games, and a sports day, which helped the volunteers connect with the local students meaningfully.

The foundation has been actively contributing to Vietnam's development since 2019, primarily in education and healthcare. During its years of contribution, KT&G has constructed primary schools, renovated health center infrastructures in Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, and Quang Nam Province, and has provided local residents with health checkups and surgeries.

The program, with an overall investment of about $2 million, has sponsored 200 volunteers on five different trips to Vietnam. This effort has greatly expanded the educational scope for Vietnamese young people.

Speaking to the KT&G Social Welfare Foundation, a representative stated that the group was committed to being a global citizen and explained, "We hope this trip contributes to the education of future Vietnamese talent. The foundation will continue to fulfill its responsibilities by implementing practical social contributions and improving learning environments".

The efforts of the foundation reflect long-term commitment to empowering communities and nurturing talent across borders.
