The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan and Huawei have formalized a partnership through a memorandum of understanding to advance digital education. The agreement was signed following a meeting between the Kazakh delegation, led by Minister Sayasat Nurbek, and Huawei’s leadership in China. The discussions, with Huawei Vice President Li Junfeng and Max Zhao Xu, CEO of Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan, centered on opportunities for collaboration in the digital transformation of higher education.
The memorandum outlines the launch of pilot smart classroom projects in 2025, as well as initiatives designed to offer students valuable experiences, such as internships at Huawei, participation in global competitions, and job fairs aimed at enhancing graduate employability.
In Huawei headquarters, the Kazakh delegation discussed the company's leading edge technologies, such as the cloud platforms, innovations on digital classrooms, and research centers. The Smart Classroom, which combines modern technology for improvements in learning environments, has been a key highlight of their visit.
This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in training the next generation of ICT professionals, while also bolstering Kazakhstan's position in the global digital economy. It aligns with the country's broader digitalization strategy, which focuses on elevating educational quality and fostering a competitive knowledge-based economy.
