Japan Embassy Announces Scholarship for Kuwaiti Teachers

  • The Japanese Embassy in Kuwait has launched the MEXT 2025 Teacher Training Program, offering scholarships to Kuwaiti teachers for conducting research at designated Japanese universities.

In a press release, the embassy outlined that the scholarship aims to enhance school education through academic exchange and research opportunities. Eligible candidates must be Kuwaiti citizens born on or after April 2, 1990. Applicants should be university or teacher training school graduates with at least five years of teaching experience at elementary, middle, or secondary schools in Kuwait. In-service faculty members from higher education institutions are not eligible.

The embassy highlighted several requirements for applicants, including physical fitness, an interest in Japan, and a willingness to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture upon arrival. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to conduct research in Japan and adapt to life in the country.

The application process involves document submission, followed by a written examination in English and Japanese, and a personal interview. All necessary details and application forms are available on the official website: [Study in Japan](https://www.studyinjapan.go.jp/en/smap-stopj-applications-teacher.html).

Applications must be submitted in person to the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait by Thursday, February 6, 2025, no later than 3:00 PM local time.

The MEXT Teacher Training Program, established in 1954, promotes mutual understanding between Japan and other nations while contributing to the global intellectual community. It provides educators with a unique opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in a world-class academic environment.

The embassy encourages qualified Kuwaiti teachers to take advantage of this opportunity to engage in cultural and educational exchange, fostering stronger ties between Kuwait and Japan.
